Magnificent rare Art Deco figurine of a lady “Dancer” performing, made by Hertwig & Co - Katzhütte, in excellent condition.
It depicts a blonde lady dancer with a scarf covering her head, dressed in a gorgeous long skirt costume, performing a dance act. Painted in great choice of colors, mainly reddish with sparkling green, the figurine has a spectacular hand painted figure and glaze.
Porcelain factory Hertwig & Co. was established by Christoph Hertwig, Benjamin Beyermann and Carl Birkner, in the principality of Schwarzburg-Rudolstadt where in 1864 they started construction of a porcelain factory in Katzhütte.
It is in excellent condition, marked with green Hertwig&Co. “Cat House” of the period as well as a rare embossed one also and #1271 numbered, oven sign close to the base, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures, as they are part of description.
