The bowl is supported by a pronounced wari-kōdai (split foot), deliberately divided into four sections, giving the base a strong structural presence. On the exterior, vertical glaze runs and irregular breaks reveal the dark clay beneath, creating a varied surface as the glaze thins and gathers during firing. A circular artist’s seal is impressed into the clay near the base.
