An iconic small very rare table lamp nicknamed "Chinese", designed by designer Helena Frantová in 1953 for the factory OKOLO in ex Czechoslovakia. The entire modernist shaped structure of the lamp body is made of metal with a copper surface. The lamp is particularly charming with its circular shade, which in its shape resembles a traditional Chinese hat. The parchment from which the shade is conveniently made also refers to China, as does the string used to sew the paper to the surrounding hoop. Thanks to the light metal structure, the lamp can be used as a table reading lamp or hung on the wall. This lamp was remade. the parchment lampshade according to the original design and also the cable and electricity was changed from a professional specialist. The lamp works with one light bulb with an E27 socket. HELENA FRANTOVA She was primarily a jeweler. In 1953, when Helena Frantová created the lamp, she was still studying at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in the sculpture studio of Bedřich Stefan and the metalworking studio of Jan Nušl.
