Μπολ τσαγιού - Πήλινα - Oribe Ματσα Κύπελλο Τσαγιού

【Item Description】 A refined Japanese Oribe-style matcha tea bowl (chawan) decorated with a graceful, encircling pine tree motif (matsu-mon). The warm amber-brown body is adorned with sweeping white pine branches rendered in bold, expressive brushwork enhanced with fine iron-black detailing — a motif long celebrated in Japanese art as a symbol of longevity, resilience, and the timeless beauty of the natural world. The upper rim is glazed in the characteristic layered greens of Oribe ware, creating a vivid contrast with the earthy warmth of the body below. The foot ring (kodai) is covered in a creamy white slip glaze with delicate crackle (kannyu), exposing the natural warm clay at the rim — an honest, wabi-sabi detail that adds tactile and visual depth to the piece. The overall form is well-balanced with a comfortable hand-feel suited to the rituals of the chado tea ceremony. This chawan comes with its original signed wooden presentation box (tomobako) inscribed "陶楽 造" (Made by Tōraku). The foot ring interior also bears the artist's personal incised mark (kakikizu-in) — two finely scratched lines applied directly to the clay before firing — consistent with the signing practice of contemporary Japanese studio ceramicists. A distinguished piece equally suited to ceremonial use and fine display. 【Size】 Height: 7.9 cm Width: 11.8 cm 【Weight】 504 g 【Condition】 This tea bowl is in excellent used condition with no chips, cracks, or significant damage; minor age-related wear consistent with a previously owned piece may be present. 【Artist Profile】 This tea bowl is a work by Tōraku (陶楽), a Japanese ceramic artist working in the Oribe tradition. The piece is accompanied by a signed wooden box (tomobako) inscribed "陶楽 造," and the interior of the foot ring bears the artist's personal incised mark — two fine lines scratched into the unfired clay, a signature method widely used among contemporary Japanese studio potters. The foot ring surface is covered in a white slip glaze with fine crackle, a refined finishing detail indicative of careful, skilled craftsmanship. The confident iron-brush pine motif and accomplished Oribe glaze work suggest a practiced and skilled hand. Tōraku is believed to be a regional studio ceramicist active in the latter half of the 20th century or later; detailed public biographical records have not been confirmed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Shipping & Important Notice [Shipping] Your item will be carefully packaged and shipped from Japan via Japan Post, DHL, or FedEx with a tracking number.
