Clock from the German brand Phillip Haas & Söhne - PHS. Phillip Haas & Söhne – was founded by Philipp Haas in 1867. although some sources suggest an earlier start of activity. The company's logo depicting a running hare was registered for the first time. in 1883, and it was meant to be associated with the owners' surname, Haas. In German, 'Hase' is a hare. Philipp Haas & Söhne was a frequent and successful exhibitor at national and international trade fairs. The company went bankrupt around 1930 during the Great Depression in Germany. Readable shield with minimal signs of wear. A beautifully ornate brass spiral gong, signed. The key is included. The clock chimes every half hour with a single strike on the gong. On the hour, for example at 19:00, it strikes seven times. It chimes once at the half hour. Period of creation: 1900–1920.
