For sale: vintage French gasoline lighter, Flamidor, most likely dating from the period 1930–1945. The most distinctive feature of the item is the central oval medallion, which had a specific legal role in France at that time. This plate was used to display an official tax stamp from the Ministry of Finance (Ministère des Finances). At that time, lighters were subject to a tax, and the presence of this "tax stamp" demonstrated that the tax had been paid. The body features an Art Deco style, with elegant vertical striations typical of the first half of the 20th century. Most of these models were made of aluminum, nickel-plated brass, or silvered metal. It is a wick and gasoline lighter (essence), functional, equipped with a detachable cap. Size: 6/3.5 cm and weight: 18 grams.
