A large Chinese famille jeune 'Immortals' baluster porcelain vase. China, Qing dynasty, middle 19th century, most probably late Daoguang (1820-1850, 道光) period. Check all 64 photos before placing a bid. Famille jeune ceramics are particularly rare. Finely potted in baluster shape, with strongly everted top-rim, neck applied with relief handles shaped as blue animal heads with iron red rings in mouth. Superbly painted to the exterior in vibrant enamels with a continuous scene depicting court officials, scholars, immortals, warriors, ladies and kid in the garden with banana and other trees, rocks, flowers, clouds. Band of iron red and green diaper pattern with peonies above the foot. Similar wide bands, but in pink, turquoise and yellow on the neck and under the top-rim. Neck with immortals amidst clouds, rock and mountains. Old paper labels, one with cypher 5 on the base. Daylight pictures included. Dimensions: height - 40,8 cm; diameter - c. 20,5 cm.
