Together they are holding a yin yang ball with ribbons. This nephrite jade statue has very good details and is attractively large and made in the Chinese taste (please see below information). Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. This is a large and well-carved statue, inspired by a Chinese auspicious saying: “San Yang Kai Tai” (三阳开泰), means that spring is here and everything under the sun looks fresh and will have a prosperous future. The character 阳 (Sun) has the same pronunciation as 羊 (goat/sheep). It represents the auspicious expression evolved into the popular 3 sheep against a mountain landscape. Three-goat/sheep motif has been used by artists, they cleverly included three goats or sheep in their paintings, porcelain/bronze/silk embroidery or any other material such as this jade object to wish people good fortune!
