Born in 1908, he studied under Fujii Tatsukichi and Itaya Hazan. In 1935, he co-founded 春陶会 with Kato Kasen. From 1944 onward, he was active overseas in ceramics and glass production instruction, and in 1977 he received a Minister of Education award for Beni Annam Kawasemi-mon daiban.
