The base is stamped: 潮顺图记 (Cháoshùn Tú Jì) translated as: “Officially Registered Trademark of the Chao Shun Company.” Tea caddies of this type were intended for the storage of fine tea leaves, with the Yixing clay helping to regulate humidity and preserve aroma.
