➜ A finely crafted ushabti (shabti) statue, inspired by Ancient Egyptian funerary traditions. Ushabti figures were placed within tombs to serve the deceased in the afterlife, symbolically performing labor on their behalf in the Fields of Reeds. This example is crafted in the canonical mummiform stance, with crossed arms and a serene facial expression typical of Middle–Late Period ushabti iconography. The front of the figure is inscribed with vertical hieroglyphic texts. The surface displays a rich blue-green patination with darker pigment remains within the hieroglyphs, closely evoking faience style coloration while being crafted from stone.
