Βάζο - Πορσελάνη, Πολύ σπάνιο βάζο από περίπου εκατό χρόνια πριν, που απεικονίζει έναν παλιό χάρτη της Ιαπωνίας σε - Ιαπωνία

This very rare vase is made of Ko-Imari 古伊万里 ware and features an old map of Japan. A distinctive Japanese porcelain vase decorated with a detailed map of Japan rendered in traditional blue underglaze. The surface of the vase is covered with a stylized map depicting the historical provinces of Japan, written in classical place names rather than modern prefectures. These provincial names were used in Japan for centuries prior to the modern administrative system introduced in the late 19th century. For example, areas corresponding to modern cities are labeled with their historical provincial names. Tokyo appears as Ueno 上野, Osaka as Settsu 摂津, and Izumi 和泉, reflecting the geographical terminology used in earlier periods of Japanese history. The map is surrounded by decorative wave motifs, evoking the seas surrounding the Japanese archipelago. However based on its design and craftsmanship, the vase is believed to have been produced approximately 100 years ago. The unusual cartographic decoration makes this vase particularly interesting, combining traditional Japanese ceramic artistry with historical geographical representation. Pieces depicting maps of the old provincial system are relatively uncommon and provide insight into how Japan’s regions were historically understood and represented. An attractive and historically evocative piece that reflects both Japanese ceramic craftsmanship and the historical geography of Japan. I recently listed several vases with similar map patterns. These types of vases are currently scarce and difficult to acquire. This is one I recently acquired. At this time, it's uncertain when I'll be able to obtain more vases of this type. If you're interested in this rare map-patterned vase, I highly recommend bidding while it's still listed. Height 29.6 cm Center 19.6 cm Top 10.7 cm Bottom 12.0 cm Weight 1730 g Condition: There is a small chip on the bottom. No cracks are visible in the vicinity. Therefore, damage from the chipped area is unlikely, but care should be taken when handling it. Otherwise, the condition is generally good. As it is a used item, there are scratches, scuffs, peeling, dirt, discoloration, and wear. It has been stored at home. Please see the numerous photos for details. Atention: The items listed for sale are all used collectibles. Please consider them to have signs of aging, such as stains, scratches, scuffs, tears, discoloration, fading, fraying, and changes in thread color. We will post as many photos as possible to make it easy to understand. As these are old items, we appreciate your understanding before making a purchase. Shipping: The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped from Japan. We will use either DHL or FedEx for a safe and secure transportation. It usually takes about 2-3 weeks for delivery, and the package will be shipped with a tracking number. Import duties, taxes, VAT, and any other charges are not included in the item price and shipping cost. Please check your country's import duties before bidding. 052221500525
