This is a Seiko Lord Matic Special. The Lord Matic series was popular in Japan during its period of rapid economic growth in the 1960s and 70s. At the time, it was a high-end timepiece, second only to the Grand Seiko and King Seiko. While the Lord Matic series has many different models, the Lord Matic Special featured here is positioned as a top-of-the-line model. The 52-series movement it uses is the same movement that is still used in current Seiko 4S watches. It features a hacking function and a day-date display. Both the date and day can be quickly changed by pulling the crown out one click. Furthermore, the date change mechanism also functions as a manual winding mechanism, allowing you to set the date while simultaneously checking the power reserve – making it a highly practical watch.
