All right, maybe Macca is better. But Paul Simon must be the number two songwriter in the world. Not only that, he knows how to play them. On offer here are memorabilia of his amazing 1991 Born at the right time tour: five tickets to three shows including the premiere at Wembley, with the gigantic tour book plus another tour book of the Graceland-outing. Even after almost forty years, all is in perfect absolute mint condition. No folds, tears, remarks, holes or anything. Check the pictures (and my reviews). The tickets are framed loose, so you can take it out of its big 30x40 frame, change the layout or do whatever you please. The two year world tour was to promote the Rhythm of the saint-album, the second heavy African-influenced work (Graceland being then first of course). He played a whopping 150 shows, a lot of them in Africa which was a first for a western musician. His band consisted of no less than 17 musicians, including South-American as the album had also Brazilian rhythms. Included in the tour was the big free concert in Central Park NYC which was filmed and released. It was amazing, I saw it three times. On offer here are the tickets. Very special is the one for the May 8 Wembley Arena gig. As you can see, it had the wrong title: not Born at the right time, but the Rhythm of the saints tour. This concert was the European premiere. The seat was excellent. No wonder: on my right sat Roger Waters, on my left Pete Townshend. The show was amazing and I saw it twice again: both Dutch shows in the famed Rotterdam Ahoy hall. Again with special VIP guestlisted tickets. The orange stub gave entrance to the floor section, right in front of Paul. Also in this offer: the gigantic tour book. A wqhopping 42x30 cm, with 28 pages. Plus as an extra, the tourbook to his previous graceland tour. This one is 24x32 and has 16 pages. Full of info, bio’s and of course pics. As said: all is in mint condition and beautifully framed. Check the pictures. And be advised that these do not do it justice, I cannot photograph the frame without reflections.
