Βάζο - Αγγειοπλαστική, Kimura Tohō木村陶峰 - Ιαπωνία - λουλούδι/βάζο/Bizen ware (χωρίς τιμή ασφαλείας)

A highly atmospheric Japanese ceramic vase created by renowned ceramic artist Kimura Tōhō (木村陶峰). This exceptional work embodies the quiet power and refined simplicity of traditional Japanese studio pottery, strongly influenced by the aesthetics of Bizen ware and natural wood-firing techniques. The vase features an elegant cylindrical form with a commanding vertical presence, making it ideal for ikebana arrangements, seasonal branches, or minimalist interior display. Its surface is richly textured with dramatic kiln effects, displaying beautiful variations of deep iron brown, burnt umber, charcoal black, and golden natural ash deposits created during the firing process. One of the most captivating aspects of this piece is the spontaneous yohen (kiln transformation) across the upper body, where flowing organic patterns and scorched textures emerged naturally in the flame. These effects cannot be artificially reproduced, giving the vase a unique, one-of-a-kind character. The subtle throwing lines, balanced proportions, and restrained form reflect Kimura Tōhō’s mastery of Japanese ceramic aesthetics — combining rustic strength with elegant sophistication. The piece possesses both sculptural presence and meditative calm, qualities highly valued in Japanese art pottery. A superb collectible work for admirers of Japanese ceramics, wabi-sabi aesthetics, Bizen-style pottery, and masterfully fired stoneware. Artist: Kimura Tohō木村陶峰 Toseien was founded in 1913 (Taisho 2) by the previous owner, Shoji Kimura, who branched off from the Kimura main family, one of the six families of Bizen ware kiln owners. He is the Vice Chairman of the Okayama Prefecture Bizen Ceramic Art Museum. He is a member of the Nichigeikai (Japan Art Association). In 1959 (Showa 34), he received the Good Design Award at the Washington International Exhibition. Since then, he has been diligently pursuing training in ceramic techniques.
