A Phoenician glass pendant dating back to the 7th to 5th centuries BC, used as a protective amulet or religious ornament. The Phoenicians used glass ornaments for protective purposes (amulets), religious symbolism, or funerary purposes.
Shape: Circular with a ring at the top for hanging.
Decoration: A central cross-shaped design divides the pendant into four quadrants, each quadrant containing a decorative circle, for a total of six circles.
Colors used: Dark blue and gold, or light yellow and reddish pink.
Weight: 4.55 grams.
Diameter: 60 mm.
Condition: Excellent.
Rare.
Acquired in 2025 from Demeter Coins Falk Zünkler in Germany. Provenance: The piece was formerly part of a private collection in Spain, having been acquired in 1987 from an antiquities dealer or gallery.
