Magnificent Art Deco porcelain figurine depicting a “Olympic Flame”, 1930’s great creation of the famous Hungarian sculptor József Gondos (1909-1987) for Herend Porcelain Manufactory - Hungary, in perfect condition. It depicts an Olympic athlete man kneeling while holding the Olympic Flame Torch. Colored hand painted to perfection by the Herend artists, it is made of pure white porcelain and sits on a rectangular elevated base. József Gondos (1909-1987) was a famous Hungarian ceramicist and terracotta sculptor. He study at the Hungarian Academy of Applied Arts (1932-1934), the decorative sculpture department, class of Elek Lux and József Reményi. It is excellent more to pristine condition, beautifully sculpted and glazed, marked accordingly with Herend impressed mark of the period, impressed numbered # 5797, NO chips, NO cracks and NO repairs, please see the pictures as they are part of description.
