Α captured in the quiet solitude of an early New York morning, this black and white photograph frames a fleeting moment of grace at Central Park's iconic Bethesda Terrace. The grand Minton tile arches create a powerful silhouette, drawing the eye to a lone dancer suspended in a moment of elegant motion. The interplay of deep shadows and soft morning light highlights the intricate architecture of the terrace and the ethereal quality of the dancer's form, creating a composition that is both timeless and deeply personal.
This photograph is a celebrated piece from the visual autobiography book, Lens and Life, published in May 2024. It has received multiple international awards and recognitions for its compelling narrative and creative composition.

Από Αρχεία Γραφείου στη Times Square: Το Ταξίδι Μου στο Φως
Γεια σας, είμαι η Viktoria Farkas. Το καλλιτεχνικό μου ταξίδι είναι απόδειξη ότι ποτέ δεν είναι αργά να μεταμορφωθείς. Μέχρι πρόσφατα δούλευα σε ένα περιβάλλον γραφείου, αλλά το 2020 ξεκίνησα μια ζωτικής σημασίας περιπέτεια στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες. Η αποστολή μου ήταν διπλή: να κυριεύσω μια νέα γλώσσα και να βουτήξω βαθιά στον κόσμο της φωτογραφίας.
Αντικαθιστώντας την καρέκλα του γραφείου με μια μηχανή φωτογραφίας, η Νέα Υόρκη έγινε η τάξη μου. Είχα την τιμή να μαθαίνω από διάσημους δάσκαλους όπως η Lindsay Adler και να συνδεθώ με επαγγελματίες όπως ο Norbi Bánhalmi. Ό,τι ξεκίνησε ως αναζήτηση νέων δυνατοτήτων μεταμορφώθηκε γρήγορα σε αληθινό κάλεσμα.
Η καταιγίδα της επιτυχίας χτύπησε όταν μια από τις φωτογραφίες μου επιλέχθηκε από τη γκαλερί Art Square NY για να προβληθεί σε έναν τεράστιο πίνακα διαφήμισης στη Times Square — μακρινή από τα αρχεία του γραφείου όπου ξεκίνησα. Αυτή η περιέργεια με οδήγησε από το κυνήγι φάρων στο Μέιν μέχρι το κυνηγητό καταρρακτών στο Watkins Glen, οδηγώντας τελικά στη δημοσίευση της οπτικής αυτοβιογραφίας μου, «Lens and Life», που φιλοξενεί τις 100 αγαπημένες μου μαύρο-άσπρες εικόνες。
Σήμερα, με βάση την Οδονιτική, προσιτή παγκοσμίως, η φωτογραφία είναι για μένα κάτι παραπάνω από δεξιότητα — είναι ο αληθινός γλωσσικός έρωτας και ο τρόπος που συνδέομαι με τον κόσμο.
