This piece is executed in the classic ""Nankin Akae and Sometsuke"" style, drawing inspiration from Chinese Ming-dynasty polychrome and underglaze blue porcelain, which was historically highly prized in Japan. The center depicts a serene landscape with a traditional pavilion in fine underglaze blue cobalts. The border features bold, radiating red roundels bordered by intricate geometric and floral patterns, creating a beautiful contrast between the vivid red enamels and the deep blue tones. Nakamura Shigeto is well-known for his exceptional brushwork and ability to blend traditional historical patterns with contemporary sophistication. The plate bears the artist's mark on the base. It comes complete with its original, artist-signed wooden storage box (Tomobako), a black display stand, and a protective cloth. Condition Plate: Excellent/Mint condition.
