These are two vintage Kokeshi dolls, handcrafted and painted in Japan. The bob-haired Kokeshi doll is a style common in the mid-to-late Showa period (1960s-1980s). The black-haired Kokeshi doll was deemed a "highly made" piece by the workshop. As proof, it has a "Masterpiece" stamp on the bottom. It has some minor scratches but is in good condition. Size: 22.5 x 9.5 cm The brown Kokeshi doll was hand-carved from solid wood by the renowned craftsman, Usaburo. It features a hand-painted plum blossom pattern, and the artist's signature is on the bottom. The bottom is stamped with "Showa 59" (1984). Usaburo (1917-2009) was a renowned kokeshi doll craftsman from Gunma Prefecture. He established Usaburo Kokeshi in 1950 and is known for his modern interpretation of traditional wooden kokeshi dolls through original designs, vibrant colors, and innovative techniques.
