Δ striking contemporary minimalist chess set featuring highlypolished chrome-plated metal pieces in an abstract, streamlined style. This setis inspired by mid-century modern designs (similar to Herman Ohme style) but isa modern reproduction/import - sleek, sculptural, and perfect for display on adesk, shelf, or coffee table.
Key Features:
All 32 pieces are solid chrome-plated metal (both sides identical silver/chrome finish – monochrome style)
Abstract, simplified shapes: rounded teardrop pawns, hooked knights, pointed bishops, conical rooks, elegant tapered queens, and crowned kings
Mirrored chessboard creates a beautiful reflective effect when pieces are set up
Black wooden presentation case with custom black foam cutouts to securely hold every piece
Compact size – board measures 26x26cm square (great for smaller spaces)
Excellent used condition pieces have nice shine with no dents, dings, ormissing plating. Mirror board is clean with no cracks or scratches. Foaminserts intact. All pieces present ideal and accounted for. Case closes securely. Thisis a decorative/display piece first, fully playable second for modernhome or office decor, executive gifts, or collectors of minimalist/abstractchess sets. Not a tournament set and not a rare vintage original, but a veryattractive and eye-catching modern interpretation.
This chess set was presented as a gift to an officer of the Royal Netherlands Military Police.
