The phoenix depicted in the maki-e is a symbol of glory and victory, said to bring good fortune to its owner.

(Features)
This is a high-end ballpoint pen, featuring traditional Japanese Maki-e techniques to depict the changing seasons. This artistic method dates back to antiquity, with similar examples found among the treasures of the Shoso-in Imperial Repository.
It comes in a paulownia wood box that carries the scent of fresh timber, creating a sense of pristine elegance and luxury.
Writes smoothly, with a nice weight to it, Parker refills recommended for longevity of the pen.
(Recommended Points)
Maki-e is a technique where designs are drawn in lacquer and then sprinkled with gold or silver while the lacquer is still wet. The lacquer acts as an adhesive, and the term Maki-e (literally "sprinkled picture") comes from this process of sprinkling gold powder.
This craft has a long history. As a unique traditional craft with no parallel elsewhere in the world, it has been cherished both in Japan and abroad for centuries.
The delicate process of "sprinkling" the gold powder performed by hand, one piece at a time, by skilled artisans. This product is crafted using the Kan-maki-e (Gold Maki-e) method.
(Condition) New, unused, in a beautiful paulownia wood box.
