• Notes: Caliber 5606 is a representative movement that supported the spread of Seiko

• Water-Resistant: Water resistant for everyday life water dishing/showering but don't expect too much from it: Even if it was labeled "Wate-Resistant" at the time, it doesn't meet modern water-resistant standards. Avoid using it around water.
• Diashock: Seiko's unique shock-resistant device that protects the balance wheel from
shocks, dramatically improving the accuracy and durability of watches. It is one of Seiko's
core technologies, first introduced in Marvel in 1956 and still used in current models such

■Guide to set:
• Winding: Automatic winding, so the mainspring winds with arm movement. Manual winding is possible too.
• Quick weekday/date device does not work, so pull the notch 2nd position first to adjust weekday by rotating 2hands 24 hours to change to a correct weekday. Then use Semi Quick device by rotating hands over 12 o'clock till change date then rotate hands back wise 9 o'clock position then forwards rotate hands again over 12 o'clock position till change to next day. Repeat this process of back-and-forth between 9oclock to over 12oclock position until a correct day. Last correct time hour/minute/second （Hacking device works） be adjusted
■Condition: Overall: The watch is in good pre-owned vintage condition and is currently in working order. There are light scratches and signs of wear on the case consistent with normal use over time.
Case: SGP Gold St-Steel Case shows very minor surface scratches, micro-scuffs, and signs of wear due to its vintage age and regular use.
Dial & Crystal: The dial remains in excellent, clean condition, well preserved with clear printing, applied indices, and an attractive texture that has aged gracefully. The crystal shows some minor micro-wear upon close inspection.
Despite of over 60 years usage, since the watch had been treasured and kept carefully as memorial gift from CEO of Japanese Railway Company, the watch is in an excellent good condition overall since quick-day/date-set device still does work precisely. But very careful handling, when set the time/date, is required due to real vintage watch. From June 5th 30th 2026 of this year the watch had been tested three times with 3-400 round Magic Lever automatic winding by arm swing movement; the time accuracy is less than 15 seconds in 24 hours. Power reserve respectively is 41, 45 and 51ours. So power reserve has not deteriorated due to age-related wear and metal fatigue on the mainspring. Despite over 60 years usage. the watch is still in good condition overall and still does work precisely, but very careful handling, when winding and setting time, is required due to a real vintage watch. As the movement and lubrication are in good condition, it is suitable for daily wear if wounded and worn regularly. It needs to be wounded at your convenience daily by natural arm movement to keep more accurate time. It was functioning normally at the time of listing, so it should continue to function without any issues.
Unfortunately, quick-set calendar is not functioning due to one of the most common defects
of cracking of plastic quick-set wheel since all other mechanics does work precisely and correctly, timekeeping remains normal, manual winding works, automatic winding works,
hacking works, Day/date advance normally at midnight and only the quick-set function fails.
This appears to be exactly the failure caused by using the quick-set between about 10 PM and 3 AM, when the calendar mechanism is already engaged.

(A) Dial: Grade: 9.2/10: Excellent. I see: original champagne sunburst finish. original LM logo. original printing. original day-date frame. original hands. The dial still has very attractive radial brushing. I do not see evidence of refinishing.
(B)Hands: Grade 9.5/10: Excellent: Original. Matching gold tone. No corrosion. Hour markers are beautiful. The applied markers remain straight. No obvious lifting. No missing plating.
(C)Case: Grading 8.5/10: This is an SGP gold plated case. I notice the normal edge wear, small scratches, light plating wear on corners but nothing excessive. Very honest vintage condition.
(D)Crystal:Some light scratches are visible. This is completely normal. Can easily be polished if acrylic.
(E)Crown: Appears original. Correct size. No obvious replacement.
(F)Movement evaluation: Grading Movement cosmetic grade: 9/10: From your movement photograph I observe:✓ very clean bridges✓ rotor has correct brushing✓ no rust✓ no green corrosion✓ no moisture damage✓ screw heads remain clean✓ balance area appears clean. These are excellent signs. Although only a service inspection can determine lubrication condition, visually the movement appears above average.
(F)Case back: This is probably the most interesting feature. Your case back carries Japanese text including: 功績表彰記念 which means "Commemorative Award for Distinguished Service." Around the perimeter it also includes: 日本国有鉄道 which identifies the former Japanese National Railways (JNR). This indicates the watch was presented as a long-service or merit award rather than sold through normal retail channels. These presentation Lord Matics are noticeably less common than standard production examples and are sought after by collectors of Japanese industrial history.
