Genesis
- είναι ένα αγγλικό ροκ γκρουπ που ιδρύθηκε το 1967 στο Charterhouse School στο Godalming, Surrey.
Το πιο εμπορικά επιτυχημένο συγκρότημα αποτελείτο από τον πληκτρά Tony Banks, τον μπασίστα/κιθαρίστα Mike Rutherford και τον ντράμερ/τραγουδιστή Phil Collins.
Οι Genesis υπήρξαν ανάμεσα στους πρωτοπόρους της προοδευτικής ροκ τη δεκαετία του 1970, όταν στο γκρουπ περιλαμβάνονταν επίσης ο τραγουδιστής Peter Gabriel και ο κιθαρίστας Steve Hackett.

Με 150 εκατομμύρια αντίτυπα σε παγκόσμια κυκλοφορία, οι Genesis είναι από τους κορυφαίους πωλητές στην παγκόσμια μουσική βιομηχανία.
Η δισκογραφία τους περιλαμβάνει 15 στούντιο άλμπουμ και έξι ζωντανά άλμπουμ.
Έχουν κερδίσει πολυάριθμα βραβεία (συμπεριλαμβανομένου ενός Grammy Award για το Best Concept Music Video με το «Land of Confusion») και έχουν εμπνεύσει πλήθος tribute bands που επαναλαμβάνουν τις εμφανίσεις των Genesis σε διάφορες περιόδικες της καριέρας τους.
Το 2010 οι Genesis εισήχθησαν στο Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
