This original cyanotype is created from an original Polaroid photograph, combining the immediacy of instant photography with one of the earliest photographic printing processes. The image captures a Ferris wheel from an unconventional perspective, transforming a familiar urban attraction into a dynamic composition of intersecting lines, luminous forms, and deep Prussian blue tones.

The cyanotype process lends the work its distinctive monochromatic palette and subtle variations in texture, making each print unique. Printed by hand on high-quality watercolor paper, the rich surface enhances the depth of the blue pigments while emphasizing the handcrafted nature of the process.

Balancing architectural geometry with the ephemeral qualities of light and motion, the work explores themes of memory, nostalgia, and the poetic relationship between photography and time.

Sviatlana Petushkova is an interdisciplinary visual artist. Master of Contemporary Art. Since
2022 she has been a member of the Lithuanian Union of Artists, where she actively
develops her career, participates in competitions and exhibitions, and continues her creative
work and civic engagement. Her artistic practice spans multiple media, including analog
photography, printmaking, and spatial installations, exploring themes of migration, identity,
acculturation, and the concept of home in a global context. Her art reflects a profound
investigation into belonging and security, shaped by her experience as a political refugee
and active participant in cultural dialogue.
