Βάζο - Πήλινα - Ιαπωνία - Βάζο Oribe με λαβές-προεξοχές - Suzuki Goro 鈴木五郎 (γεν. 1941)

A striking Oribe vase by Suzuki Goro, one of the most celebrated contemporary potters of the Seto region. The deep copper-green glaze flows with characteristic vibrancy across the shoulders and body, pooling naturally to reveal the warm clay beneath. Two small lugs at the shoulder bring a quiet rhythm to the silhouette, while the hand-formed surface carries the soft tension that defines Suzuki's work. Inscribed at the foot ring with the artist's carved signature, and accompanied by the original signed tomobako (wooden box) with the title "Oribe Hanaire" written in the artist's own hand. A piece that embodies the spirit of Mino tradition reinterpreted through one of its most inventive modern voices. 【Artist Profile】 Suzuki Goro (b.1941, Toyota, Aichi Prefecture) is one of Japan's foremost contemporary ceramic artists, recognized for his bold reinterpretation of the Mino traditions — Oribe, Shino, Kiseto, and Yobitsugi. He began his training in 1957 at the Aichi Ceramic Vocational Institute in Seto, won the top prize at the Asahi Ceramic Exhibition in 1966, and was first selected for the prestigious Nitten exhibition in 1961. His career took on an international dimension when he held a solo exhibition in Los Angeles in 1969, and he was later invited to teach at Rhode Island School of Design (1975) and Cranbrook Academy of Art (1982). In 2002, he received the Japan Ceramic Society Award. Suzuki is also the creator of "Goribe" — a personal technique whose name fuses his own ("Go"), the tea master Sen no Rikyu ("Ri"), and the legendary potter Furuta Oribe ("Be"). His works are held in major Japanese museum collections and continue to be exhibited at Takashimaya and other leading galleries. 【Condition】 Excellent.
