仁寿斎 Ninjusai Dragon and lion Decorative Bronze Octagon Flower Vase Ikebana Vase with Box A finely crafted bronze flower vase by the Japanese metalworker Ninjusai (仁寿斎), featuring an elegant archaistic form inspired by ancient Chinese ritual bronzes. The body is richly decorated with intricate geometric patterns, while a pair of dynamic high-relief dragons coils dramatically around the central section, showcasing the artisan’s exceptional skill in bronze casting and chasing. Works bearing the Ninjusai seal are occasionally found among high-quality Japanese bronze and silverware from the late Meiji to Taisho period. Based on its design, craftsmanship, and decorative style, this piece is believed to date from the late 19th to early 20th century. The harmonious combination of classical Chinese motifs and refined Japanese metalworking techniques reflects the fascination with archaic bronzes that flourished during the Meiji era. Both sculptural and functional, this impressive vase stands as a striking example of traditional Japanese decorative metal art.
