This specimen is a magnificent technical testament to the extreme mechanical wear of the BEP flat-plate process, showcasing four distinct plate injuries:
The "Spur Flaw" in "CENTS" (Letter "N"): Located at the upper serif of the letter "N" is the highly sought-after registered hairline scratch. A razor-sharp white metal spur cleanly cuts through the blue layout of the character.
The Broken "S" in "CENTS": The upper loop of this "S" is vertically split by a fine white fracture line, further compromised by a distinct wedge-shaped white nick indenting the bottom curve.
The Defective "Y" in "DELIVERY" (Upper Right): The upper left arm and stem of the letter "Y" display an uninked, hollow printing appearance. Immediately to the right, the double vertical frame lines suffer a near-complete structural break.
The Right Value Tablet Damage (Lower Right): The right tablet reveals a continuous linear damage pattern tracking from left to right: an uninked white void to the left of the "1", a sharp flaw directly inside the center spacing of the "10", and a third void to the right of the "0". Below this area, the inner frame line is broken, and the extreme lower right corner shows a sharp white missing entry (Short Entry).

Sensational, postal history study group assembled to document extreme production tolerances and manufacturing varieties of the Bureau Issues, consisting of two extreme contrasting specimens:
1. THE HYBRID PERFORATION VARIETY ("Green Haven"):
Used exceptional specimen representing a premium combination rarity (EFO). The sky showcases a spectacular, all-over printing plate-wiping flaw (Major Plate Smear / All-over Ink Tinting), completely bathing the paper in an intense green hue. Perforation anomaly: Irregular transitional perforation measuring 10 ½ at top/bottom and 11 on the left. The right margin features a clean, production-related Straight Edge running parallel to a row of perfectly documented, unpunched Blind Perforations.
2. THE PREMIUM COMPARISON PIECE ("Dull Green"):
Used reference specimen in the regular, high-contrast deep dark green (Deep Green), perf 11. Features a legible R.P.O. oval handstamp (Railway Post Office / Bahnpost) from "DULUTH MINN." containing the central sector abbreviation "W.D." (Western Division) of the railway mail inspection service.

Historical postal variety with unlisted plate flaws (PF). Dual cancellations from Gettysburg and in red San Francisco (Sep 1941).

Spectacular Precancel EFO Error: Severe "NEW YORK N.Y." hollow printing with multiple structural bar and letter breaks.
Analysis:
Outstanding specialist piece showing a shifted, under-inked Precancel (Type II) with a distinct hollowed appearance in all letters. The upper heavy killer bar suffers a clean vertical break directly above the portrait. Most notably, the top serifs of the characters "N" and "Y" are sharply split, revealing the blank white paper weave underneath. A magnificent cabinet item for advanced EFO and precancel collectors.

USA 1920 – $2.00 Benjamin Franklin (Scott #547).
SPECIALIST PIECE. Used example of the bi-colored flat-plate issue with rich, fresh color. Striking, severe registration shift (Shifted Center) of the black vignette to the lower left, causing a distinct overlapping of the base of the neck onto the red inner frame. Features a fully visible red vignette guideline at the bottom margin. Typical centering (Fine), with a clean partial cancellation. An outstanding cabinet and exhibition specimen illustrating production varieties of the Third Bureau Issue.

USA 1918/20 – 2 Cents Washington (Scott #526/528-Var).
Used rarity of the flat-plate offset wartime issue on ultra-thin 0.07 mm thin paper stock.
Spectacular Perforation Variety: A prominent, faulty comb perforation stroke (perforation machine feeding error) resulted in a severely oversized bottom margin by a complete, additional perforation row, while maintaining a clean stamp-out.
Condition & Cancellation: A color-fresh example featuring a deep black strike of the New York "NY 3" duplex cancel. Due to the massive machine feeding error, the stamp is off-center to the upper left (Poor).
An exceptionally rare, production-related combination of material and technical errors (Premium EFO Showpiece).
