Silver-Plated Neoclassical Sweetmeat Basket with Glass Liner European silver-plated tableware, dating from approximately 1920–1930. This compact sweetmeat basket features an elongated removable glass liner set within an openwork silver-plated frame. Laurel-leaf decoration, beaded borders, angular side handles and four paw-shaped feet give the piece a balanced neoclassical character. Designed for presenting sweets, chocolates, nuts or small confectionery, it can also be displayed as a decorative table or cabinet object. The combination of transparent glass and detailed metalwork creates a refined presentation without requiring a large surface area. The silver-plated frame displays an established dark patina, light surface wear and oxidation consistent with age. The glass liner has light marks and subtle age-related colour variation.
