Jugendstil Grape Leaf Dish – Solid Cast Brass – ca. 1910s
In excellent condition – No reserve.
A striking original Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) cast-brass dish, made in Germany around the 1910s. Designed in the naturalistic Weinrebe / Weinlaub tradition, the bowl is sculpted in the form of layered grape leaves and flowing vine tendrils — a classic symbol of hospitality, abundance and craftsmanship from the height of the Jugendstil movement.
This dish is heavy quality solid brass castingThe surface shows finely modelled leaf veining and deliberately pierced negative spaces, enhancing the play of light and shadow — typical of high-quality German decorative metalwork from this period.
The dish carries a warm, golden brass patina with minor age-related traces of use, fully in line with its 110+ year history, and remains in structurally excellent condition. Polished and waxed for a lasting golden shine.
