This substantial rectangular plaque features a strongly modelled profile portrait of Stalin in high relief, accompanied by the raised Cyrillic inscription: “И.В. СТАЛИН” – “I.V. STALIN” The combination of the monumental portrait, raw cast-metal construction and naturally aged surface gives the piece a particularly strong industrial and brutalist appearance. Unlike lightweight decorative plaques, this example is remarkably substantial, weighing approximately 1.7 kg. The pronounced three-dimensional relief creates strong shadows and makes the portrait visually impressive when displayed on a wall. The plaque retains its authentic aged surface with visible oxidation, small traces of corrosion, scratches, casting irregularities and signs of previous use. These imperfections have deliberately not been removed and contribute significantly to its genuine vintage industrial character. The reverse is completely unfinished and shows the rough structure of the casting together with old surface marks, providing an interesting insight into the manufacturing process. Two original mounting holes are present, allowing the plaque to be displayed vertically on a wall.
