Two Japanese writing instruments featuring phoenix designs in contrasting pink and black. Sailor’s Yuubi Maki-e and Pilot’s Miyabi Emaki series combine printed decoration with hand-applied powder detailing, bringing the rich colours and lustre of maki-e decoration to everyday writing instruments.

1. Sailor Yuubi Maki-e – Phoenix
A push-button ballpoint pen with a metallic pink barrel decorated with a gold-coloured phoenix. The flowing plumage wraps around the barrel, complemented by silver-coloured trim and a pocket clip.
Accessories: Sailor box and instruction leaflet.

2. Pilot Miyabi Emaki 2+1 – Phoenix
Model: BTHM-3SR-HO.
A multifunction pen with a glossy black barrel decorated with a phoenix and clouds in gold and red, complemented by gold-coloured trim. It combines black and red ballpoints with a 0.5 mm mechanical pencil. Twisting the barrel selects each of the three writing tips.
The Miyabi Emaki product tag is attached.

Both pens contain ballpoint refills and have been checked to produce ink. The remaining ink levels are unknown.
