Overview A 1971 Seiko Lord Matic in the rounded-square "TV" case style, with a two-tone dial: a charcoal grey sunray centre framed by a black outer border. Small applied block indices with luminous tops, luminous baton hands, a slim seconds hand and a framed day-date window at 3 o'clock with a kanji (Japanese) day wheel as pictured (Sunday in red). Signed SEIKO / AUTOMATIC / LM / 23 JEWELS with the Suwa symbol. Brushed stainless steel cushion-square case with integrated lugs under a flat crystal with bevelled edges, on its original SEIKO LM-signed Milanese mesh bracelet. Powered by the Seiko 5606 automatic movement with 23 jewels. The main points to note: the dial shows many tiny whitish spots scattered across its surface (age spotting or particles), with a faint rubbed area near 1 o'clock, although the printing remains crisp; and the mesh bracelet has small brown rust/discolouration spots near the clasp joint and on the inside of the mesh at the 12 o'clock end, with numerous line scratches on the clasp surface and dirt inside the clasp. The brushed case shows fine scratches overall, with a few more noticeable line scratches on the upper-right bezel face near 12 o'clock and diagonal scratches on the 9 o'clock side; the case back shows many fine scratches and a small stain. The luminous material on the hands and indices has yellowed/dulled with age, and the hands show a few tiny specks but no corrosion. The crystal shows no notable scratches or chips.
