The striking red lacing, black armour plates, richly patterned brocade and dramatic white hair create a powerful display, while the Takeda diamond family crest appears prominently on the accompanying armour storage chest. The helmet is inspired by Takeda Shingen’s famous Suwa Hossho kabuto and is fitted with voluminous white hair and a dramatic horned demon-face front crest (maedate). The maedate is carved from wood and finished with genuine gold leaf, giving the helmet a particularly imposing appearance. It is accompanied by a black menpo face mask with a white moustache and throat guard. The cuirass and associated plates feature vivid red cord lacing, while the shoulder guards and other components combine lacquered surfaces with richly decorated textile coverings. The complete ensemble includes the kabuto helmet with gold-leaf demon maedate and white hair, menpo face mask, cuirass, large shoulder guards, chain-mail sleeves, thigh guards, black shin guards, fur-covered footwear, brocade waist cord, black lacquered armour storage chest decorated with the Takeda diamond crest, and a sectional wooden display stand. The use of brocade fabrics, chain mail, lacquered plates and elaborate lacing gives the armour the appearance of a high-quality traditional Japanese display suit. The set is in good to very good used condition, with light age-related wear and minor blemishes. The white hair has become somewhat prone to shedding and the underside of its base has a taped repair. There is slight adhesive residue near the rear of the helmet and some paint loss around the maedate mounting area. Some lacquered and painted surfaces show light scuffs and dulling, with minor fraying to cords and small abrasions to plate edges. The armour chest has small areas of lacquer loss around the corners and fittings, together with a small chipped corner. Please review all photos for the condition. ※Important: For Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Monaco and Portugal, orders of €150 or less cannot currently be shipped due to the new €3 customs duty/IOSS issue.
