A true find from Kuta in Bali. According to me the sign says "delicious freh noodles" this was mounted on the mobile pushcart (kaki lima) on the beach of kuta in the 1960/70's. If you are known in Kuta this stand sold the famous Bakso soup with noodles, they were the best I ever had! I think it closed down a few years ago but I've got the sign from the pushcart. In the late 1960s and 1970s, before Kuta had proper restaurants, this stall was the go-to spot for surfers craving a bakso or quick plate of smoky, stir-fried street noodles right after coming out of the ocean I am certain the family running the stall was strictly of Chinese descent, it is worth noting that many Chinese-Indonesian cooks operated mobile pushcarts (kaki lima) and temporary market stalls along the beach paths during that exact era. While most of these original 1960s street vendors never transitioned into permanent brands, their legacy lived on through the smoky, wok-tossed street food style that defined early Kuta.
