The watch is powered by the Seiko Calibre 6532 quartz movement, one of Seiko's early analogue quartz movements. The dial is particularly clean and elegant, with slim applied baton markers, a fine outer minute track, central hour, minute and seconds hands, and a practical date aperture at 3 o'clock. The case back is correctly signed SEIKO, SGP, ST. STEEL BACK, 6532-5110, JAPAN, together with the serial number 300396. The serial configuration is consistent with production in January 1983. The SGP marking indicates Seiko Gold Plated, while the case back is stainless steel.
