Το σχέδιο προκύπτει από σφιχτά κυλινδρισμένες φυσικές ράβδους από καλάμι ή γρασίδι, accented with bands of black, turquoise, green, orange, blue, yellow, red, cream and white.
The bold horizontal patterning gives the piece a wonderful graphic quality, while the braided turquoise-and-white side handles add another handcrafted detail. Its generous proportions make it ideal as a decorative laundry basket, blanket basket, toy storage piece or simply as a sculptural accent in an eclectic, bohemian or globally inspired interior.
The construction and materials are characteristic of West African basketry, particularly Senegalese-style coiled weaving. Handmade variations, natural fiber irregularities and some minor wear are present and form part of the character of the piece.
