Αντικείμενο Description
Αυτός ο Φθορά consists of two Japanese hanging scrolls (kakejiku) with samurai-themed subjects, offered together as a pair.
The larger scroll shows an armoured samurai warrior on horseback. He wears a crested helmet and richly detailed red-laced armour, and carries a quiver of arrows and a bow. The horse has ornate orange tassels and harness. Snow-capped Mount Fuji rises above a band of mist, against a warm gold-toned ground. The picture is signed and sealed at the lower right. It is mounted in brown brocade with red and gold figured borders and dark wooden roller ends.
The second scroll shows a kabuto (samurai helmet) with a large gold maedate crest. It has finely patterned green, orange and white neck guards and a vivid orange cord tied beneath. The picture is set against a soft cream-to-peach ground with subtle gold flecks, and is signed and sealed at the lower right. It is mounted in pale brocade with a lozenge pattern in soft pastel colours.
Both scrolls are well suited to display for Boys' Day (Tango no Sekku) or in any collection of samurai-themed Japanese art.
Size
Larger scroll (samurai on horseback and Mount Fuji):
Height: 177.5 cm
Width: 59 cm
Weight
Larger scroll: 953 g
Condition
Both scrolls appear clean and in good overall condition, with no major damage visible in the photographs. Minor age-related wear may be present, so please review all images carefully.
