Collection of 5 Islamic Silver Talismanic Amulets – Two Hamsa Hands, Ayat al-Kursi Pendant, Hirz Case & Stone-Set Ornament Description A collection of five traditional Islamic silver talismanic and devotional objects, dating approximately to the first half of the 20th century, circa 1900–1950. The collection comprises two silver Hamsa / Hand of Fatima amulets. Both belong to the traditional protective amulet form widely known as the Hamsa or Hand of Fatima. The rectangular silver pendant features a circular panel inscribed in Arabic with Ayat al-Kursi (The Throne Verse), framed by decorative wavy bands set with small colourless stones. Also included is a cylindrical silver Hirz / prayer amulet case, engraved with repeating decorative motifs and fitted with a removable end section and several suspension loops. Such cases were traditionally used to hold a written prayer, protective text or hirz. The fifth piece is a larger diamond-shaped silver talismanic ornament, richly decorated with applied floral and twisted-wire details. It is set with two coloured cabochon stones, one deep red and the other orange-red. Several of the pieces bear visible silver hallmarks or assay marks, as shown in the photographs.
