[ Short Description ] A set of two traditional Japanese hanging scrolls featuring Zen calligraphy by priests associated with the Daitoku-ji School of Rinzai Zen Buddhism. The first scroll features the Zen phrase "結果自然成" (Kekka Jizen to Naru). The phrase means "The result comes naturally." It suggests that meaningful results arise naturally through steady effort and patience, without forcing the outcome. The calligraphy was created by Sōgen Maeda, Head Priest of Zuikō-in Temple of the Daitoku-ji School. The second scroll features the Zen phrase "雲出洞中明" (Kumo Idete Tōchū Akiraka Nari). The phrase evokes clouds emerging from a mountain cave, bringing a sense of brightness and clarity. In Zen, this imagery can suggest the clearing of confusion and the emergence of understanding. The calligraphy was created by Kyōdō Uesaka of Daiji-in Temple of the Daitoku-ji School. Both scrolls are made on paper. Each scroll is accompanied by its original wooden storage box (tomobako).
