Model History:

The La Grande Classique collection reflects Longines’ longstanding tradition of producing elegant Swiss dress watches distinguished by restrained styling and refined proportions. This automatic version was created primarily for the Japanese market and is less frequently encountered than the better-known quartz models from the collection.

Dating from approximately 2002, this example combines a white dial with alternating Roman numerals and applied baton markers, a framed date aperture and a flowing stainless-steel case integrated into the original bracelet. Originally marketed as a men’s watch, its versatile 34 mm diameter and restrained styling also make it suitable for women seeking a classically proportioned timepiece. Inside is the slim Longines calibre L619.2, based on the highly regarded ETA 2892-A2.

Condition:

The watch is presented in very good pre-owned condition and retains an elegant overall appearance. The white dial is clean and clearly legible, with well-preserved printing, applied Roman numerals, baton hour markers and a framed date aperture. The polished silver-tone leaf-shaped hands complement the applied hour markers and the refined appearance of the light dial.

The original crystal is clear and scratch-free. The stainless-steel case retains its distinctive combination of brushed and polished surfaces and its smoothly integrated profile. It displays scratches, small marks and light surface wear consistent with previous use. The polished bezel also shows several minor marks but remains bright and attractive.

The original stainless-steel bracelet is complete with Longines-signed components and displays scratches and normal signs of wear, particularly on the brushed centre sections and polished edges. Together with the watch, it accommodates wrists up to approximately 16.5 cm. No additional links are included.

The stainless-steel case back shows scratches and surface wear, while the Longines winged-hourglass emblem, reference number and serial number remain clearly legible. The original crown is also present.

The calibre L619.2 automatic movement has been serviced and is functioning correctly. All functions operate as intended. A 3-month guarantee is provided on functionality.
