Model History:

Introduced in 1961, King Seiko represented one of Seiko’s premium mechanical watch lines and played an important role in the development of high-grade Japanese watchmaking.

The 56KS generation was introduced in the late 1960s and combined refined case designs with slim, high-frequency automatic movements manufactured by Suwa Seikosha. This reference is powered by the date-free calibre 5621A, providing an especially clean and symmetrical dial layout.

Manufactured in February 1971, this example features a silver sunburst dial, an applied KS emblem, a signed crown and the characteristic gold-tone King Seiko medallion on the case back.

Condition:

The watch is presented in attractive vintage condition. Its silver sunburst dial retains a clearly visible radial finish and changes subtly under different lighting. The applied Seiko logo, KS emblem, Hi-Beat inscription and baton hour markers remain clearly presented.

The dial shows light natural patina, including scattered small spots, marks and areas of subtle discolouration. The hands and applied hour markers also display light age-related surface wear. These imperfections are most noticeable under close inspection and do not significantly affect the dial’s overall appearance or legibility.

The stainless-steel cushion-shaped case displays scratches, small marks and normal wear consistent with its age and previous use. Its brushed and polished surfaces remain visually attractive. The signed KS crown is present.

The crystal has been polished and presents clearly, although some fine residual marks and surface imperfections may remain visible from certain angles.

The case back retains its original gold-tone King Seiko medallion. The medallion displays surface wear, discolouration and several darker spots, while the surrounding stainless-steel surface shows scratches and normal age-related wear. The reference number and serial number remain clearly legible.

A new black leather strap has been fitted. The calibre 5621A automatic movement has been serviced, and all function are operating correctly. A 3-month guarantee is provided on functionality.
