Dunhill - Αναπτήρας - Silver plated

Vintage Alfred Dunhill Aladdin’s Lamp table lighter, also known as the Roman Lamp or Genie Lamp. This is the post-war second series, made in England in the 1950s.

The lighter takes the form of a classical oil lamp, with a loop handle, a pedestal foot with ribbed base, and a nozzle fitted with a knurled flint wheel and hinged snuffer.

The underside is stamped DUNHILL, MADE IN ENGLAND and PAT. No 592139, with an engine-turned border and a slotted fuel screw for refilling.

Condition: The silver plating is in very good condition for its age, with only light surface scratches to the bowl consistent with use. The flint wheel turns and sparks. I took it apart to ensure all good and while it sparks the front lid does not open when striking but all parts are there. I am just not doing it right. Supplied without fuel.
