A very special nature designed jasper bead talisman, it has been used also as money. From the ancient Silk Road, Central Asian culture.
1st millennium AD.
In good condition. It has been cleaned partly, but the nice antique patina is preserved. Original, ancient, hand cutting, carving, grinding. The holes are ancient, hand-made, irregular, funnel-shaped. Traces of use and age on its surface.
Purchased mid 90's in London by Dr. Zelnik on the local art market.
