Αρχαία Ρωμαϊκή Ασημένιο Δαχτυλίδι με Φτερωτό Έρωτα (χωρίς τιμή ασφαλείας)
Ancient Roman Silver Ring with Winged Eros
Circa 2nd-3rd century AD
This lovely silver ring with flying Eros and laurel wreath is a solid-cast signet with a broad oval bezel finely engraved with a winged Eros shown in flight, body diagonally disposed and wings spread. In his outstretched hand he carries a laurel wreath; the opposite arm is extended behind, and the thick D-section hoop expands to meet the bezel.
Eros, a prominent figure in Greek mythology, is the god of love and desire. Often depicted as a youthful and handsome winged deity, Eros plays a crucial role in shaping the dynamics of love and passion in the ancient Greek pantheon. He is known for wielding a bow and arrows, with the golden-tipped arrows representing love and the lead-tipped arrows symbolizing repulsion.
