A Chinese blue and white porcelain bowl with everted rim. China, Ming dynasty (1368-1644, 大明), most probably 16th century. Painted to the interior with a Phoenix and sacred pearl in the central medallion. Wide band with Chinese symbols at the border. The rounded sides rising from a tapering foot to an everted barbed rim, painted to the interior with a garden terrace scene depicting a table with a bowl with flowers in front of the wooden fence, border extensively decorated with blossom and foliage. Exterior with flower sprays. Foot-rim with some kiln-grit, base with radiating "chatter" marks typical for Ming bowls. Daylight pictures included.
