A vase by legendary Czech designer Josef Hospodka, artistic director of the Chribska glassworks (Česká Sklo, Chribská). The vase is made using the submerged glass technique — multi-layered glass with a deep blue and golden amber core enclosed in a solid transparent body. The dynamic, free form with plastically curved edges and a four-part base is characteristic of Hospodka's style and is an icon of Czech art glass of the mid-20th century.
