Fast and very careful shipping from France. 2023 is the first vintage of Florent Foury's Les Vergers at Domaine de L'Apollin. This parcel-based cuvée is a blend of large (70%) and small (30%) Manseng vines. Some of the vines are 45 years old, while the oldest are over 80 years old and are planted on heavy clay and pudding soil in the Monein area. Fermentation and ageing took place in 228 and 350 litre barrels for 10 months. Vinified with indigenous yeast, Le Champ des Loups is neither filtered nor fined, and 20mg/L of sulphites have been added to ensure that the wine keeps well in the bottle and in the air. His “mentor” experience (he worked for 3 years with Jean-Baptiste Semmartin at Domaine Lajibe) is evident in his first wines. Florent identifies with the wines of Richard Leroy, Labet, Ganevat and Helicon.
