High quality Japanese traditional hand carved wooden Noh mask - Heita平太, finely carved with sharp, dignified eyebrows on both sides and a firm mouth.
This mask is for a middle-aged warrior, with sharp, dignified eyebrows on both sides and a firm mouth. It is said that the name "Heita" is based on the face of Egara Heita Tanenaga, a warrior of the Kamakura period, and represents the standard for a man's face. It is a special mask used for the ghosts of fierce warriors, such as "Tamura" (the spirit of Sakanoue Tamuramaru), "Yashima" (the spirit of Minamoto no Yoshitsune), and "Quiver" (the spirit of Kajiwara Genta Kageyoshi), from the Shuramono series. The costume worn by the wearer of this mask is a black kimono with a pear-shaped eboshi hat and a white headband, and the kimono is thick wood, with a happi coat and half-sleeved kimono. The happi coat represents the appearance of an armored figure.
