This hand made Antique Japanese-style bronze pagoda lantern, is inspired by traditional tōrō (灯籠), which are decorative lanterns often found in temples, gardens, and shrines throughout Japan. • Material: Hand cast bronze. • Shape: The pagoda-style roof (curved eaves) is a hallmark of Japanese architectural influence. • Hexagonal base: This shape is common in traditional lantern designs. • Cage-like body: May have been used to hold a candle or oil lamp—the bars would protect the flame and allow light to shine through. • Top loop handle: traditionally hung from the eaves of a traditional Japanese home, although can also be placed on the ground.
